The main objectives of the conference are:

KazChess/Kazakhstan Chess Federation is pleased to announce the ‘Chess in Education’ conference on 27-28th September 2025 in Almaty at the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev.

The main topics of the conference will be: the influence of chess knowledge on human competencies in the 21st century, the development of education in the era of AI and digitalisation, challenges and analysis of the introduction of chess in schools, and other relevant issues.


Conference objectives:

  • Promotion and introduction of chess into the education system.
  • Exploration of the potential of digital technologies in chess education.
  • Development of 21st century skills through chess.
  • Teachers and school principals, representatives of education authorities, relevant departments, and Kazakhstani and international chess federations are invited to participate in the meeting.

About us

The Kazakhstan Chess Federation and its Chess in Education programme are integrating chess into the national education system. Our main initiatives include:
  • Curriculum development: incorporating chess as an official subject in the school curriculum.
  • School work: creating chess programmes in 1,400 primary schools across the country.
  • Teacher training: equipping teachers with the necessary skills to teach chess effectively.
  • Creating educational resources: developing comprehensive teaching materials for chess instruction.
  • Working to amend legislation in support of chess education.
